Newcastle's Foote is a regiment in the Sealed Knot, a society which re-enacts both the battles and daily life from the English Civil War period of 1642-1651.

The regiment consists of approx. 200 members from across the country, although historically the regiment was raised in Yorkshire and the NE. Newcastle's Foote portray a typical fighting regiment of the period, but individuals have been known to portray other walks of life from time to time.

Between us we usually manage to take part in most SK events across the UK and have sent contingents to both Northern Ireland and the USA for re-enactment events.

The Sealed Knot was founded in 1968 and takes its name from a secret society formed to restore the monachy to the throne after the execution of King Charles I.
The late Brigadier Peter Young, founder of our modern society, was not only a distinguished soldier but also the country's leading military authority on the civil war period.
The Sealed Knot was granted charity status and although we are a non-profit organisation, we have raised and donated thousands of pounds to various charitable causes.
